How To: View your Donation Status in Groundswell

Did you make a donation in Groundswell recently, but aren't sure if the donation ever made it to the charity? Well, you are in the right place! This article will walk you through the steps to finding the donation status of your recent donations so you can understand exactly where your donation is and feel confident that it made it to the charity of your choosing seamlessly! 

Step 1: Click your profile icon on the top right 

Step 2: Click "Giving History" in the drop down menu options

Step 3: To view the status of a specific donation, simply select the one you're interested in. Below are examples of the various statuses you might see. 

Chariot: 

  • Pending: The donation has been initiated but is still waiting for approval, balance confirmation, or review before it can be sent to the charity.
  • Sent to Charity - Processing: The donation has been submitted and is currently being processed or verified before the payment is issued to the charity.
  • Donation Sent: The donation has been issued and is on its way to the charity.
  • Received by Charity: Your donation has been successfully deposited in the charity's Chariot account if sent electronically
  • Check Cashed: Your donation has successfully made it to the charity you donated to and they have cashed your check 
  • Delivery Issue: There was a problem delivering the donation to the charity, such as a returned check or failed payment.
  • Canceled: The donation was canceled or rejected before it was successfully delivered to the charity.

Live Checks not sent by Chariot: 

  • Check Sent: Your donation has been successfully sent to the charity via live check. These checks are sent via USPS so it can take ~5-20 business days for them to arrive, pending delivery statuses of USPS. 
  • Check Cashed: Your donation has successfully made it to the charity you donated to and they have cashed your check

Pending Matches: 

If you are enrolled in a company match program, you will be able to view your match status directly in your Giving History. All you need to do is click the donation you are looking to see the donation match status of and look at the "Match status" line. 

  • Pending: your match is still pending, it could be pending for a few reasons (I.e. ACH settling, insufficient funds in admin portal, charity is blocked by AB488, company's program configuration does not send matches instantly). 
  • Completed: your match went through and you should see a separate donation match card in your Giving History
