Here are all the ways you can match your employee’s charitable giving in Groundswell. Some you can bundle together and others are stand alone programs.  How you have configured your company match program may impact which programs/features below you have access to.

Contribution Match:

In a Contribution Match program, an employee receives their company match immediately upon an eligible contribution into their Groundswell account.

For example: If an employee is eligible to be matched up to $100 and contributes $100 to their Groundswell account then they would automatically and instantly receive their company match of $100 into the employee’s account. Once this has been done, the employee would have $200 in their account, which they could use to donate to any eligible charity on the platform at any time without additional approvals from the company.

Volunteer Match (Dollars for Doers):

In a Volunteer Match program - also known as Dollars for Doers - this program rewards volunteer hours at a company’s established rate to add funds to an employee’s Groundswell account.

This recognizes that some employees may not have funds to contribute, but have time – and rewards them in the same way. It's an inclusive approach that invites everyone to participate, even those who may not be able to donate large sums but are eager to commit their time and energy.

For example: If an employee is eligible to be matched up to $20 per volunteer hour and submits 3 hours of volunteer hours in Groundswell. They will receive a $60 volunteer hours match in their Groundswell account once the volunteer hours are approved by an admin.

Donation Match:

In a Donation Match program, an employee triggers their match when they direct a donation to a match-eligible charity.

For example: If an employee is eligible to be matched up to $100 and contributes $100 to their Groundswell account they do not receive their match at that time. However, when they later direct some or all of that $100 to a match-eligible charity, Groundswell will immediately process the match and send it concurrently with the employee’s donation.

Campaign Match:

In a Campaign Match program, an employee triggers their match when they direct a donation to a match-eligible charity that is included in a company create spotlight.

Campaigns are designed to engage employees around a specific cause area or group of charities, and create a sense of urgency to donate by incorporating a company match, as well as a campaign goal and end date.

For example: If a company has created a spotlight campaign highlighting local charities, when employees donate to any of the charities that are included in the spotlight their match will be immediately sent to that charity.
