Platform Fees and Processing Costs (U.S. & International)

Fees associated with contributions, donations, and other transactions may vary depending on your employer's program configuration (if participating on Groundswell as part of a workplace giving program), payment method, destination organization, and other factors.

In some employer-sponsored programs, certain fees may be covered by your employer while you are actively participating in the program. If your eligibility changes—for example, due to a change in employment status—you may become subject to fees that were previously covered on your behalf.

The exact fees applicable to your transaction will always be disclosed within the Groundswell platform before you complete a contribution or donation.

Typical Platform Fees

While fees may vary by program and transaction type, common fees include:

  • 1% for donations to eligible U.S.-based nonprofit organizations. This fee is waived on recurring donations established to U.S.-based organizations.
  • 3% for donations to eligible Non-U.S. nonprofit organizations

Third-Party Processing Fees

Certain transactions may be subject to fees charged by third-party service providers. These fees are determined by the provider and may change over time.

Examples include:

  • Stripe processing fees for credit card, debit card, and other electronic payment transactions
  • DonateStock/GivingIQ fees for stock, securities, and cryptocurrency donations, as well as DAF-to-DAF transfers. Current fee: 1.5% (minimum $10).

For the most current information, please refer to the applicable provider's fee schedule:

Important Note

Fees may vary based on your employer's program settings, payment method, transaction type, and destination organization. The exact fees applicable to your transaction will always be displayed within the Groundswell platform before you confirm a contribution or donation.
