How To: Create a Fundraiser in Groundswell

Want to create your own fundraising page for a nonprofit? If your company has enabled Fundraisers, you can create a public fundraising campaign directly in Groundswell and invite others to donate.

Your fundraiser can be shared with coworkers, friends, family, or anyone you choose (depending on your visibility settings), and all donations go directly to the nonprofit you select.

Before you begin

Not every Groundswell program includes the Fundraiser feature.

If you don’t see Give → Create a fundraiser in your account, your company’s program may not have this feature enabled.

How to create a fundraiser

Step 1: Open the fundraiser builder

1. Log into Groundswell.
2. Select Give from the top navigation.
3. Click Create a fundraiser.

Step 2: Choose a nonprofit

Click Add charity and search for the nonprofit you’d like to support.

Once selected, all donations made through your fundraiser will be directed to that organization.

Step 3: Add fundraiser details

Complete the basic information:

• Fundraiser name
• Description
• Cover image
• Additional photos (optional)
• Video (optional)
• Campaign updates (optional)

Your description is a great place to tell donors:

• Why you’re fundraising
• Why this cause matters to you
• How donations will make an impact
• Any milestones or goals

Step 4: Choose who can view your fundraiser

Depending on your program, you can choose:

• Employees only — only coworkers can view and donate.
• Anyone with the link — anyone with your fundraiser link can donate.

You can also choose to keep your fundraiser unlisted, meaning it won’t appear on the Give page and can only be accessed through a direct link.

Step 5: Set your fundraising goal

Enter the fundraising goal you’d like to reach.

Your campaign will display progress as donations are received.

Step 6: Set your campaign dates

Choose:

• Start date
• End date
• Start time
• End time

Your fundraiser will automatically open and close based on the schedule you set.

Step 7: (Optional) Add a default donation note

You can add a note that will automatically be included with every donation made through your fundraiser.

This is especially helpful if:

• you’re fundraising for a race (marathon, walk-a-thon, jog-a-thon, cycle for survival)
• donations need a team name
• the nonprofit requires additional identifying information

Step 8: Publish your fundraiser

You can:

• Save as Draft if you’re not ready to launch.
• Publish to make your fundraiser live.

Once published, you’ll be able to share your fundraiser link with others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can donate?

Anyone allowed by your visibility settings can donate.

Some organizations allow anyone with the fundraiser link to contribute, while others limit fundraising to employees.

Do donations go to me?

No.

All donations go directly to the nonprofit you selected through Groundswell.

Can I edit my fundraiser after publishing?

Yes. You can return to your fundraiser to update details, add campaign updates, or make changes as needed.

Can I save my fundraiser before it’s finished?

Yes.

Use Save as Draft to come back and finish it later.
